For a decade, Yuri Tsuzuki has created paintings that display a certain reverence for nature and an inclination toward understatement that is reminiscent of her Japanese heritage. As an artist embracing two very different worlds: the East and West, Yuri's work acknowledges and reveals the many complexities, sensitivities and beauty inherent in every culture. Her works are poetic visual statements. As she herself writes, "I want my work to be like the wind - with no boundaries, gentle yet strong, intangible yet omnipresent. Each of us has a personal vision, our very own mandala. My paintings are a reflection: a prism of reflected thoughts through which I observe the world around me. Through my work, I only wish to share with others, the view through my mind's eye. |
